Believe It to Achieve It Luncheon
By Samantha Champagne
I had someone ask me what non-profit organization I feel passionate about. Immediately, Shelter Nova Scotia came to mind. While providing a safe place to stay for those in need, Shelter Nova Scotia seeks to grow an effective continuum of services to help people transition from crisis back to community. Their non-stop determination to help people of all ages struggling with homelessness motivates me to make a difference. We all need help at some point in our lives; together, lets make a difference in someone else’s life.
This past month, I had the privilege of helping to organize a luncheon for Shelter Nova Scotia with motivational speaker Randy Taylor. LimeLight, MPI Atlantic Chapter , Pete’s Fine Foods and The Westin Nova Scotian. We all came together to produce this wonderful event.
All proceeds are going back to Shelter Nova Scotia, and our President Kimberley King will be “Sleeping Out for Shelter Nova Scotia” (Click to Donate) on October 3rd to raise even more funds! Due to the incredible work of Shelter Nova Scotia’s staff, they will end homelessness, one person at a time. However, it is clear that more targeted assistance is needed to support individuals who are most vulnerable without stable housing. Shelter Nova Scotia; a community without judgement where everyone has a safe, affordable home. #giveshelter
